Jazim is a breath of fresh air in the world of music – he has journeyed from being a prodigy to a Star. An ardent student of music, he embraced ghazal at a tender age. His solid foundation in Classical Music is a result of the guidance of Late Shri Vijay Sachdeva ji of the Kirana Gharana. Mentored by Sunil Seth ji, and influenced by Ustad Ghulam Ali Sahib, he has excelled in the Ghazal Genre.

Musical style

Jazim has recreated many traditional ghazal and geet, infusing them with a fresh zing of modern instrumentation and rhythm. He has performed for and has been appreciated by the legends of the
industry. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 set the tone for the next stage of his career. As a finalist, he was honored with the title “Shehzada-e-Ghazal” – which he cherishes and wears humbly. He is an accomplished musician (and a multi-instrumentalist playing the
tabla, piano, etc.), and is undoubtedly one of the finest harmonium players. His magical sargams and style have been lauded by distinguished musicians and legendary artists like Vishal Bhardwaj, Shankar Mahadevan, Vidushi Parveen Sultana, Hariharan, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ustad Ghulam Ali, and many more

Jazim brings a delightful treat for every music lover! He has hit the right note with songs of every genre be it Ghazal (Pyaar Bepanaah), Qawwali (Dedh Ishqiya, Jugni), Nazm (Suno Tum), Devotional/Bhajan (Hanuman Chalisa), Tribute (Heartitude), Filmi (Chonch Ladhiyaan, Grey Waala Shade), Folk (Ishq), Sufi (Bismillah).

Collaboration

He is a happening and sought-after composer and has done exciting collaborations with some of the most renowned and reputed artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Javed Ali, Jaspinder Narula, Anup Jalota, Jasbir Jassi, Farah Anwar, Humera Chann, Purbayan Chatterjee, Gayatri Asokan,
Salim-Sulaiman, Kamran Akhter, Clinton Cerejo, Ajay-Atul. During the pandemic, Jazim composed a couple of anthems that involved many notable artists. One of them is Guzar Jayega – with Megastar Amitabh Bachchan reciting poignant poetry, and Phir Hoga – a collaboration with Indo Canada Art Council.
